Dev Update 5

More progress has been made with the migrating some sites to the new V3 infrastructure.

There have not been many bugs to speak of, more 'quality of life' tweaks and features added.

But we did add a whole new section type...

The call to action group is intended for multiple items that sit together but can link to different locations or just provide different information, whilst giving better control over the styling.

Current VB Media customers may be used to seeing elements such as...

These have proven very successful and almost every VB Media site contains an element similar to this.

The problem has been that these have always required adding html to a text element (which is still possible) and then adding custom CSS for the styling.

Whilst this has proven an effective solution it is not ideal and is time-consuming.

This new 'Call to Action Group' should allow for much more control and far easier to use.

The example above are two examples of what can be done with this new section.

Both are on the same website page but one has three columns and an 'image left' layout, whilst the one below has a five column layout and an 'image top' layout .

Changing the settings on this section works exactly the same as other section and the image right, shows the categories of what you have control over. 

This has proven to be a most useful tool. Whereas duplicate will recreate the duplicate the selected section below itself, copy will allow you to paste it anywhere you like.

Not only that, with copy you can paste from one page to another!

This will make it much easier when you have found a look you like and instead of having to recreate it on different pages, you can simply copy and paste it across.

Each section now has a 'Copy Section' button and once clicked will give you instant feedback that the section has been copied.

The paste buttons will then instantly appear next to the 'Add Section Above' and 'Add Section Below' buttons.

These buttons will appear whenever you have something on the paste-board.

Once you paste the buttons will disappear, meaning that you can only paste once - but you can always re-copy. The thinking behind this is that with no real way of clearing your paste-board, the paste buttons would be permanently visible for something that may no longer be required,
